What Each New DStv Package Includes
DStv Starter: ₦6,000
Starter is the new entry package. It adds SuperSport KICKOFF, a channel that shows a Premier League Match of the Week and selected Champions League games. It also carries Africa Magic+, the new name for Africa Magic Family, and the La Liga channel.
DStv Select: ₦11,000
Select is the family package. It focuses on movies, local and international series, documentaries and the full kids line up, with some selected sport. It costs the same as the old Confam bouquet.
Select suits homes where the TV is mostly on for Nollywood, series and cartoons. If nobody in the house follows weekly football, it gives you the most entertainment for the money without paying for sports channels you will not watch.
DStv Sports: ₦21,000
Sports shows every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match. It also carries cricket, WWE, UFC and basketball, along with the general entertainment channels from Select. It costs ₦2,000 more than the old Compact bouquet, but Compact did not include the Champions League.
DStv Premium: ₦44,500
Premium keeps its place at the top. It has everything in Sports, plus Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis, major golf and international series on M-Net. New movie channels, M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends, are part of the refresh.
Old DStv Prices in Nigeria Until 5 November
These are the prices most subscribers pay until the new packages start.
| Old package | Monthly price | What happens on 5 November |
|---|---|---|
| Padi | ₦4,400 | Dropped |
| Yanga | ₦6,000 | Moved to a new package |
| Confam | ₦11,000 | Moved to a new package |
| Compact | ₦19,000 | Moved to a new package |
| Compact Plus | ₦30,000 | Dropped |
| Premium | ₦44,500 | Stays, same price |
What Happens to Padi, Yanga, Confam, Compact and Compact Plus?
You do not need to do anything. MultiChoice says existing subscribers will be moved automatically, in phases, to a package that keeps at least their current content. You do not need a new decoder or an app update.
A few points to know:
- If you paid for several months, you keep your current service until that period ends.
- If you prefer a different package, you can change it in the MyDStv app or on the DStv website.
- MultiChoice has not published a full list of which old bouquet moves to which new one. So check your account after 5 November to see your new package and price.
The biggest change hits Padi viewers, because the cheapest DStv package rises from ₦4,400 to ₦6,000. Compact Plus viewers who want every Champions League match will find it in Sports, which is ₦9,000 cheaper than Compact Plus was.
How to Check Your New DStv Package After 5 November
- Open the MyDStv app, or go to the DStv Nigeria website and log in.
- Enter your smartcard number or the phone number on your account.
- Look under your account details for the package name and monthly price.
- If the package is not the one you want, choose Change Package and pick another.
- No smartphone? Dial *288# and follow the prompts to check your account.
Do this before your next payment date, so you pay the right amount for the package you actually want.
Is the New DStv Sports Package Worth It?
For football fans, Sports is better value than the old line up. Before, every Champions League match meant paying ₦30,000 for Compact Plus. Now Sports gives you every Premier League and Champions League match for ₦21,000, a saving of ₦9,000 a month.
If you only watch big matches now and then, Starter may be enough. It shows one Premier League match a week and selected Champions League games for ₦6,000. That is ₦15,000 a month less than Sports, so think about how many matches you really watch before you upgrade.
DStv Stream or a Decoder?
DStv Stream lets you watch on your phone, laptop or smart TV without a dish, with plans from ₦6,000 a month. It suits people in flats where a dish is not allowed, or anyone who watches on the go. The catch is data, because streaming a full football match uses a lot of it.
A decoder needs a dish, but it uses no mobile data and works well during busy matches. For a household that watches every day, the decoder is usually the cheaper way to watch.
Which DStv Package Shows the Premier League?
From 5 November, Sports at ₦21,000 is the cheapest package with every Premier League match. Starter at ₦6,000 shows one Premier League match a week on SuperSport KICKOFF. Premium shows all of them too, with extra sports on top.
For the Champions League, the same rule applies. Sports and Premium show every match, while Starter shows selected games.
DStv Decoder Price in Nigeria
MultiChoice is selling a new customer bundle for ₦15,000. It includes a decoder, a satellite dish and an installation kit, plus the first month on the entry package. Some reports say the deal runs from 2 November 2026 to 28 February 2027, so ask your dealer to confirm the dates.
Installing the dish yourself? Follow our step by step DStv dish installation guide.
What Happened to Showmax?
Showmax no longer exists as a separate app. MultiChoice shut it down on 30 April 2026 and moved its shows into DStv Stream. So older claims that Showmax comes free with Premium no longer apply.
DStv Stream works on its own without a decoder, with plans from ₦6,000 a month.
How to Pay or Change Your DStv Package
You can pay in the MyDStv app, by dialling *288#, or through your bank app under bill payments. Keep the decoder switched on while you pay so it picks up the signal.

DStv vs GOtv Prices: Which Is Cheaper?
GOtv is still the cheaper option. Its current prices run from ₦1,900 for Smallie up to ₦16,800 for Supa Plus. GOtv is also moving to four new packages on 5 November, called Easy, Starter, Select and Sports, but MultiChoice has not yet published their prices.
