For years this was not the case. In 2020, Spectrum’s own community team confirmed that Fire TV and Fire Stick were not on the supported device list. That is why many older guides, including an earlier version of this one, told readers to sideload an APK file. You should not do that now.
Sideloaded APK files come from unofficial websites. They can carry malware, they do not update automatically, and Spectrum does not support them. The official app is safer, and it gets every new feature.
Which Fire TV devices work?
According to Charter, the app runs on Fire TV devices with Fire OS 6 or later, or Vega OS. Spectrum’s own device page lists Fire TV models from 2018 onward. Charter named the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Omni QLED Series as examples. It also named some smart TVs with Fire TV built in, from Hisense, TCL and Panasonic.

Spectrum lists Samsung smart TVs from 2016 onward as supported. Install the app from the Apps section of Smart Hub, then sign in with your Spectrum username and password.
