Why Asuu is yet to call off strike.

Good-day Fellow Nigerian Students!

First, we will recall that from the last FG & ASUU meeting held on *Monday, January 21st, 2019, FG released N163 billion to ASUU from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) In order to call off the strike.*

However, from the latest information released by ASUU yesterday *(Thursday),* via it’s *BULLETTIN 9,* the union has said the Federal Government failed to make fresh offer on funding for the revitalisation of public universities in the country, and strike will continue till such is issue is handled.

The union stated that government is yet to address the issue of renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement in its new offer made to the union on Monday.

*This was disclosed by the President of ASUU, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi in a bulletin he sent to branches of the union, on Thursday (yesterday), January 24, 2019.*

Ogunyemi said: “government has failed to address the crucial issues of funding for the revitalisation of public universities in Nigeria and renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement.

*The Revitalization Money We are talking about here is the N50 billion

Meanwhile, the efforts of ToJesus info crew to speak to the minister of Labour *(DR CHRIS NGIGE)* or even the President *(His Excellency MUHAMMADU BUHARI),* when they were LIVE in *University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus Yesterday, Thursday, January 24th,* for the commissioning of a world-class edifice built & donated by CBN, to the school, proved very abortive, due to heavy presence of security men & protocols who disallowed us access to the personalities.

*So, this is the latest on ASUU for now, as at today, Friday, January 25, 2019 @7:39am
